On Thursday 23rd July York TUC held a public meeting at the Railway Institute about the current problems facing York Residents since the introduction of night time parking fees and an increase in double yellow lines.

The meeting was attended by around 100 local residents, trade unionists, small business owners, pensioners, charities, religious groups and arts groups.

Lib Dem head of City Of York council failed to give adequate reasons for the financial attack on York residents.  And it was clear from the strength of feeling at the meeting, that these actions have to be reversed immediately.

York TUC will continue to press for a reversal in the parking policy, with a council lobby to be held at 5pm outside Guildhall on Thursday 29th July.
